Shield. Luo. Kenya. No 91. XI.R.1. Original list: "Luo. Shield. Buffalo horn, wood, kaolin. Man, warrior, elder, chief". Large skin shield (buffalo skin?), Curved, brown in color, with patterns of long entangled, hollowed out, beige arches. The skin is stretched and then fixed by leather ties and iron pieces on a wooden square, at the corner of which is placed a handle for gripping the shield. The edges of the skin are folded up. The grounds include remnants of kaolin. The skin has traces of native restoration: a stitched tear. See "Luo warrior"; "Luo warrior with impala horn headress" in J. Adamson. 1967: 164, 168
