Kamba Figure SB.1.1

Kamba Statue. Kamba. Kenya.
Anthropomorphic female figure, in dark wood, monoxyl, partially pyrographed on the head and on the cheeks, covered with a loincloth and adorned with jewelry. The figure stands upright, has a thin and slender trunk, strong shoulders, an oblong head marked by two large detached ears, a pyrography engraved black lattice cap and two aluminum inlays for the eyes. A long row of small red and white glass beads is sewn, as a belt, on the loincloth in black fabric which covers its genitals, strongly sexual. His chest, formed of two small conical protrusions, is left bare. Brass chains adorn his neck, wrists and one of his ankles. Two aluminum discs in the shape of cones are inserted into his ears by means of a thin copper rod. The statuette is mounted on a base and has a broken foot
